  • Chain of Command

    Chief of Police

The Chief of Police is the highest-ranking officer in the department. They oversee all operations, set departmental goals, and ensure the agency is running at its fullest potential. The Chief is ultimately responsible for all decisions within the Los Santos Police Department.

    Deputy Chief of Police

Appointed by the Chief, the Deputy Chief works hand-in-hand with them and holds equal authority. The Deputy Chief serves as a departmental administrator and plays a key role in making executive decisions while supporting the Chief in leading the department.

    Assistant Chief of Police

The Assistant Chief supports both the Chief and Deputy Chief in overseeing the department. They assist in administrative decision-making, provide guidance to command staff, and ensure policies and directives are carried out effectively.

    Commander

Commanders manage the day-to-day operations of the department. As the first tier of departmental administration, they play a critical role in decision-making, ensuring functionality across divisions, and coordinating between upper command and lower ranks.

    Captain

Captains oversee patrol operations and the supervisors within the department. They are responsible for managing all subdivisions, specialized units, and certifications. Captains ensure that departmental objectives are met and that officers have the resources and leadership needed to succeed.

    Lieutenant

Lieutenants ensure smooth department operations by supervising Sergeants and supporting them as needed. They act as a bridge between field supervisors and command staff, making sure information flows properly up and down the chain of command.

    Sergeant

Sergeants are the first level of supervision within the department. They mentor and assist Officers, answer questions, provide guidance both in and out of patrol, and enforce departmental standards. Sergeants are responsible for relaying information to their superiors while demonstrating strong leadership, teamwork, professionalism, and dedication.
